Allspice turns roasted sweet potatoes into candy! |

I recently visited a friend who served magnificent roasted sweet potatoes. The secret, she said, was that her husband had just returned from the Middle East with fresh spices. "When I opened the package I could smell the allspice immediately," she said. Well, I decided I could probably match that by ordering Marshall Creek allspice. Sure enough, my sweet potatoes turned out just as good as my friends. Just peel and cut up the sweet potatoes, shake in a plastic bag with a little olive oil and plenty of allspice, bake at 375 degrees until done (about 30-40 minutes). Heaven!
